A Lifeless Statue by George J. Carroll Wednesday, August 01, 2007
..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Layered in alabaster white Was this vision before me. Carved by a master craftsman Each detail of her body perfection.
Moonlight enhanced this delicate beauty, Mesmerizing me with its glow. As I gazed upon her face, I saw an emptiness in her eyes.
How sad was this lifeless statue With a forlorn look on her face. With all the beauty a sculpture could give her, Was left without a heart to bring her life.
As I gazed upon her intently, I saw life sparkle in her eyes. She moved with a graceful manner, Now a human entity came before me.
How could I not resist her charms, As I drew her close to me. I felt the warmth of her body As she was now a part of me.
When I awakened at the light of dawn. There stood that statue smiling. No longer sadness on her face, But a contented look of joy.
